SuperCross Races

So we went to the supercross races on saturday, and if you don't know us yet, we are definately fans of the super/motorcross world. So every time they come to Utah you will find us there. Me and Braken love #1 Chad Reed and Scott and Payton love #7 James "bubba" stewart. We had the best seats in the house, we were 12 rows up from the track and directly in front of the finish line. So the racers were coming straight at us from the starting gate, and we were able to see them up close and personal going thru the finish line, love it. This was actually the boys first time to a race, and mine & scott's 3rd time, and hopefully many more to come for us. So the main event that chad & james race in is 20 laps around, needless to say chad lead the first 11 laps until he was passed by james and he lead the rest of the race winning the event. Me & braken were a little upset, but nothing like a little bit of family competitiveness. (doesn't always work out well either but in this case we were happy). After the race instead of trying to fight the crowd and traffic with the boys me and scott decided to stay and wait til the rice eccles stadium cleared a little and then we would try and make our way thru the crowd. We ended up watching "bubba" do all his interviews with the media and us and about 15 other people kept yelling at him to throw us his goggles, hat, jersey, boots, trophy, etc. anything and everything we could think of and all of us laughing knowing that he wasn't going to do it, but it was fun watching him anyways. So as "bubba" was leaving the stadium Scott and Payton ran out hoping they would ketch him before he got in his bus ( me and braken had made a bathroom stop) when we came out of the bathroom to meet scott & Payton we couldn't believe what we saw. Payton had yelled out "bubba's" name a couple times and he waved to him (he thought he was so cool) and they decided then was their time to ask him for something/anything he would give them, but scott told payton he had to ask for it, so they went running up to the side of him and payton yelled "bubba can I have your hat" and he took it off his head and threw it to Payton. He Was In Heaven!! (literally). He was struttin his stuff after that, and for a little boy too look up to someone so much as "bubba" and for "bubba" too take the time to do that for him was An Awesome Experience for Payton. and the motto I leave with that is "It never hurts to ask"! So as cold as it was and as tired as we all were it was DEFINATELY WORTH THE WAIT!! The boys also got shirts, Paytons has his on in the picture below with his hat he got. ( bet you can't guess who he got. yep James "Bubba" Stewart) and Braken got a black Chad Reed one. Very fun, and the boys had an absolute blast.
This is what the track looked like. we were directly in front of the finish line. AWESOME
