THEIR IS A FIRST FOR EVERYTHING

I am so happy to be writing this post today because this was Scott's goal to do by the end of the year and our opportunity finally came. We did our first race! Dash For Donations!! Scott has a ceo at his work that has a rare form of Leukemia and the 'Say Yes To Donors" was giving back to those donors who have saved so many peoples lives. So Scott's work C.R. England was sponsoring any employee who wanted to participate in this event and Scott jumped on that, and we figured what a great way for us to give back to his coworker who is the recipient of bone marrow from some kind person out there. It was a 5k that was held at Sugar House Park on Aug 11, 2012 and our whole family participated in it, granted it's a 3.11 mile run/walk and it doesn't seem like it's far but when your the one running it, it seems like a freakyn eternity and your always looking for the finishline. We were very excited but also very nervous because we didn't know what to expect and we had never done anything like this before, and by all means were not avid runners we try and workout when we can at our local rec center but that gets done in the hour we can spare here and there lol. But each of us all had goals we wanted to accomplish and I think we did it. Braken wanted to beat all of us and he did it in a Wopping 35 minutes, Scott just wanted to finish and did it in 43 minutes and Payton wanted to live through it and I wanted to finish in under an hour and me and payton together finished in 51 minutes so we all reached our long goals, and there is nothing more rewarding than running through that finish line knowing you did it and having all those other participants cheering and thanking you for doing it, especially those families affected by Donors. What a great experience and hopefully more too come, I'm especially proud of our boys for taking the time to join me and scott in doing this there was whining and pouting along this 2 week wait for the day too come but they woke up in a good mood ready to go and did it proud, so thank you boys for being our examples and pushing us to do it and we love you so much
